Cross Oil Naphthenics
Cross Oil continues a tradition of being a dedicated, customer-oriented supplier of naphthenic lubricating oils since 1930. Cross naphthenics are produced exclusively at their modern Arkansas refinery incorporating state-of-the-art multistage hydrotreating for producing consistently superior quality oils meeting or exceeding customer demands. Lubricon supplies its customer base from various terminals in the United States as well as from our own inventory maintained in Southern Ontario.
L Series Naphthenic Base Oils
Cross L Series comprises a line of severely hydrotreated, premium quality naphthenic base oils that exhibit light colour, good stability and medium VI. Cross L-100 is widely used in metalworking fluids and paper defoamers; alternatively, Cross L-750 is preferred for grease manufacture. All grades are highly resistant to oxidation; lower viscosity grades provide superior oxidation stability in ASTM D-943, when combined with specific additive packages. These oils are non-labelled under OSHA’s Hazardous Substances Communication Standard and all grades test less than 3.0 %Wt. extractables by Method IP-346. Cross L series is available in viscosities ranging from 4.70 to 908 cSt @ 40°C.
Corsol Series Naphthenic Process Oils
Naphthenic oils are often used in non-lubrication or process applications. Rubber extenders, inks, explosives, and chemical carriers are but a few such uses. Naphthenic oils are preferred because they provide stronger solvency characteristics than paraffinic oils. Cross Corsol Oils are specially refined to enhance solvency power. They are distinguished from the L Series oils by their lower Aniline Points. Corsol oils meet many rubber company and ink manufacturer specifications in the USA and worldwide. Low viscosity grades are frequently chosen as carriers for chemicals and fuel or oil additives. The Corsol is available in viscosity grades from 2.30 to 908 cSt @ 40°C.
Electrical Insulating Oils
CrossTrans™ 206 Insulating Oil is the “signature” product of Cross Oil Refining & Marketing, Inc. This premier product is refined from choice naphthenic crude, is severely hydrotreated, and produced under rigorous, scientifically developed conditions in order to retain those molecules that deliver negative gassing tendency. They are non-labelled under OSHA’s Hazardous Substances Communication Standard. The CrossTrans™ oils meet all the U.S. and Canadian requirements for Type II electrical insulating oil.
